Calla Lily

The warm, dark brown background sets off the fresh delicate whites and creams of the Lily's petals. I have always been facinated by these beautiful flowers and the smoothness of the natural shape. When I was given one recently I had to try my hand at painting it. I really enjoyed working this painting to life and developing the detail and shadows. This painting has been finished with a satin protective varnish.

Summer Flowers

SOLD. SOLD. 3 canvases each 12 x 16 inches. Acrylic on deep box edge canvases. I painted this on a bright sunny morning last summer sitting in the garden under the shade of my apple tree. It reminds me of warm lazy days and the scent of blossom in the air. The fresh colours will brighten any room and the painting continues round the edges of these box canvases so they come ready to hang with no need for framing. This creates a very simple but effective style. These canvases are currently unvarnished. Please ask if you would like them varnished though as I can apply either a matt or silk protective coat.

This monochrome digital print started life as a large format photograph of a miniature cyclamen, and then has been carefully altered to leave just the flowers floating in a cloud in front of a matt black background.
