Artists working for artists
Our main objective is to get original art out to the public. There is no substitute for standing in front of a real artwork. When you stand in front of a work of art in a gallery or at an exhibition, you are close enough to see the piece as the artist did when it was created. You are seeing it as it was intended. A person in front of a piece of art.
Available wall space seems to be a permanent problem for two reasons.
- There isn't enough of it.
- A lot of it is owned by people or organisations that are not actually producing art.
As a collective we own modern formatted exhibition equipment and lighting, with the transport to exhibit anywhere in the UK where there is space. We are encouraging artists to form regional collectives and find venues. We can organise and publicise exhibitions. We are making more wall space for artists.
We feel the best way to do this is create a national network of like minded artists regionally who will self manage and publicise their own events and when called upon, will help any other collective in the network, whether it be taking in artwork and acting as an agent in an exhibition or simply finding a suitable venue.
