Yosemite Burn
An abstract acrylic ink painting inspired by a visit to the Yosemite National Park this summer. In certain areas of the Yosemite National Park, the rangers have controlled burns of the ponderosa pine trees. I thought the burnt out shapes of these trees were ideal for a painting set against an orange sky. I have deliberately let some of the black specks of ink splash against the sky area, in order to create the effect of burnt cinders floating in the sky.

A very rich and classy abstract acrylic painting which has been created using a palette knife and two colours only. Simple, yet stunning. Sap Green and Old Gold were mixed together on the acrylic card and blended beautifully across with sweeping strokes of the knife. This painting is rather sensual, it gives the feeling of flowing silk or some other such opulent material. The colours are autumnal and rich combined. The Waters Edge

3 Wise Men and an Interloper
An abstract expressionist painting in acrylic, using the 3 primary colours with outlines in black. Influenced by Picasso's painting "The Three Dancers", I have used the three primary colours in order to represent the 3 different elements in this painting. However, as the painting progressed, I noticed another "figure" appeared in the background, so I decided to use him as well!
This is a departure from my usual style of work, but something which I enjoyed doing.
Size 12 x 16 inches
