Duck Redux
A reworking of 'Duck'. 60 x 60 cm. Group DEvel Knievel
Portrait of Evel Knievel (Robert Craig Knievel) 1938 – 2007. Evel was born in Butte, Montana. After being sacked from the Anaconda Mining Company for pulling a wheelie in an earth mover, Evel settled on a career as a part time burglar and selling insurance. Evel did well selling insurance and discovered that mental patients were good customers. Selling insurance didn’t really do it for Evel though and so he embarked upon a career as a motorcycle daredevil. During his many televised jumps, Evel has broken 40 bones. By his own admission, Evel only put his life on the line for the money and the women. In this portrait Evel is around 60. Evel became a Born Again Christian in 2004 and died 30.11.07 while myself and Scottish portrait artist John Boyle were painting him as part of our 'America's Finest' project.... It came as a shock as you form a kind of relationship with someone as you paint their face. Rest in peace Evel. 60 x 60 cm deep canvas. Group DIdeology Unknown
Sometimes things look inexplicable and there is no apparent meaning to their existence. There again J R 'Bob' Dobbs once said, 'The more stupid something looks, the more important it probably is.' Just because we don't understand something, doesn't mean it has no purpose or is not born out of some process. Sometimes things exist because they are banal or stupid... Reactionary. 40 x 50 cm. Group B.Mahmoud
Former Mayor of Tehran and now the president of Iran. 60 x 60cm. Group DZoinks!

60 x 60 cm. A painting which encapsulates all my thoughts about spending a month in Florida in August 2004. A surreal place. Group DLifeblood
A semi abstract in a photographic context. Water/Rain is the most valuable substance on the planet. Knife and brush. Green abstracts are relatively uncommon so I undertook quite a few. It's either a matter of painting within 'your zone' or trying to evoke something in particular. All my green abstracts or semi abstracts are about jungle and rainforest and their indigenous life and cultures. So don't buy bottled water, it falls from the sky. 40 x 50 cm. Deep box canvas. Group BSoul Returned
A spiritual anatomical painting. Lots of earthy browns and tonality. 40 x 50. Group D.Ronald Reagan
Portrait of Ronald Reagan (1911 - 2004). Reagan was born in Illinois and found fame as a Hollywood film star, where he also became President of the Screen Actors Guild. Entering politics he became the Governor of California in 1967 until 1975 and in 1981 started two terms as the 40th President of the United States of America. This is one in a series called 'America's Finest' with Scottish portrait artist John Boyle where an agreed subject is painted simultaneously. Group DAir Rabbit ©

Portrait of William Seward Burroughs (1914 - 1997). Burroughs was born in St Louis, Missouri. For much of his youth he led a priveleged existence, travelling around spending an allowance afforded him by well to do parents after graduating from Harvard. Burroughs became caught up in drug subculture and spent many years on the run, notably in North Africa. Tragically burroughs only became a writer after accidentally shooting his wife dead (Joan Vollmer). Burroughs went on to write some of the most highly acclaimed and controvertial modern literature of his generation, creating works such as, The Naked Lunch, Soft Machine, Nova Express, The Wild Boys, The Place Of Dead Roads and Cities Of The Red Night among others. 60 x 60 cm deep canvas. We all live on this planet yet so often know so little about other species. Species we may be killing off through poisoning and habitat destruction. Coral reef damage is a good example.
