Mike Finley has been seriously interested in the art and craft of photography for several years, finally deciding to abandon a career in IT and concentrate on photography in the autumn of 2002. He has been appointed the Resident Photographer at the Lower Moss Wood Wildlife Hospital in Cheshire. Mike has been a volunteer at Lower Moss Wood for some time, building and running the organisation's website, and is also a member of the 'Friends of Lower Moss Wood' support group. He has also been involved in some of their fundraising activities.
Mike is primarily interested in monochrome photography, particularly floral images, but also in monochrome infrared and landscape photography.
His monochrome photography has been exhibited in the UK and France, including in the monochrome section of the inaugural Swansea International Photographic Exhibition in the UK, and the Hype Gallery in Arles. Most recently, one of his infrared images was exhibited at the Royal Photographic Society's headquarters, as part of the exhibition to commemorate one hundred years of infrared photography.
Prints of all the images shown here are available - contact him for details using the 'Contact' link below.
Mike Finley has also had a number of articles and images published in a number of photographic books and magazines in recent years, primarily in those concentrating on monochrome photography. His work has appeared in 'Black and White Photography', 'Mono', and 'Digital Photography' magazines, and has been selected for three editions of 'Best of Friends', an annual yearbook of monochrome photography.
